NWA Teen Entrepreneur Makes Deal with Shark Tank’s Lori Greiner, Daymond John

Sofia Overton, the 14-year-old entrepreneur who founded Wise Pocket Products, made her Shark Tank debut Sunday night. The Northwest Arkansas native walked away with an investment from two sharks – Lori Greiner and Daymond John.

The latest episode of Shark Tank opened with Overton’s pitch, with featured choreographed dancers showcasing the usefulness of the Wise Pocket Product socks, which have pockets build into them large enough to secure a cell phone.

In telling her story, Overton said she has wanted to be on the show since she was six years old.

Overton’s ask was $30,000 for 15 percent.

Sharks Kevin O’Leary and Mark Cuban bowed out, but Greiner and John were quick to express interest in doing business with Overton. The pair offered $30,000 for a third of the company.

Overton negotiated for $35,000 and 25 percent, instead. Greiner and John agreed.

“I’m in heaven,” Overton said after securing the deal. “I’m so excited.”
